You know, I feel like there’s something wrong with me—or maybe my social circle is just too small. The thing is, I always feel like an option—the last option. I hate being a backup or just an "option." I want to make new friends, like other people who have great friends... but maybe the problem is me after all...

buddy, I believe this with all my might,, I can't say anything for fact, but you are not the problem when others are choosingly not prioritising you.,,there's nothing inherently wrong with you, with your personality, with your looks your everything, you as a whole? a normal, special person deserving of love n appreciation. :( it says more ab other people than ab you. Your worth isn't defined by what others think, or if they choose you, that doesn't mean theres something wrong with you. everyone has something they could work on,, of course it's saddening, it breaks your heart n it breaks mine as well, I often find myself feeling this way as well :C it's quite understandable you feel this way n it's valid to process n let it out. You don't deserve to put effort into people who don't value your presence n treat you well. Or to continue surrounding yourself with people like that,, if it's a case that people are well meaning n do it unintentionally,, perhaps try talking about it with them, I'm sure they'd understand :D I'll give you a hint, people can seem like they have great friends, but it's possible for you to be a part of that as well, all I can unfortunately say us to keep searching, even if it takes a long long, time, it took me my whole (short) life to find friends,I had none growing up, but I kept trying, n eventually life sent hope down my way ☹️,,,, talk to people you take interest in or admire n start from there, you deserve friendship. N people who truly care for you, n make you their first option <3, much love to you dude ^_^

It’s not that I don’t have friends—I do—but perhaps they aren't quite the kind I’m looking for. It’s like choosing to be friends with you solely for your looks, while completely disregarding your interests and opinions. Overall, I’m someone who is truly comfortable with solitude; I believe nothing is more valuable than oneself (though others matter, too—specifically those to whom *you* matter). I’m capable of socializing and connecting with people, yet it often feels like I’m merely an option—something that does upset me at times. Still, I always bounce back... What’s meant for you stays yours, right? And really, thank you.

you're welcome <3, a lot of these messages are quite vague so sometimes i incorrectly inference, perhaps that's the wrong call to action but I'm not entirelyyy off the mark either, 😭 n I do agree w you, I just question, are they *really* your friends?,, Not saying they aren't but it wouldn't do any harm to question it, especially if they keep you around for something as surface level as your looks???,, or materialistic objects???, just as example (I can't quite tell how literal I'm meant to read this as I am autistic 3),,then again, classify people as you please, but thats js damn heartbreaking if that applies to you :C, I honestly think real friends care for who you are on the inside, n care for you consistently, not picking n choosing you out of convenience, loyalty n conscious choice to care n take interest in you
